For over 30+ years E.Toop Fences has been a family owned and operated business providing excellent service and quality in the Ancaster and surrounding area.

In 1976, after years of working at the management level in the steel and wire industry, Endel Toop decided to strike out on his own. Endel and his wife, Annette, began E. Toop Fences Ltd. They became known for providing excellent customer service and quality installations, quickly building a reputation with homeowners, landscapers, pool companies and homebuilders as the company to call when you wanted something done properly and on time. Their daughter Tania has worked at E.Toop since she was a little girl. It started by cleaning out the trucks and moved on to working in the office.

Rich Darke joined the company as a summer student in 1992. When he and Tania became engaged Endel approached Rich with the offer to continue to work in the business and eventually become his successor. Rich and Tania seized the opportunity.

In 2000 and Endel and Annette officially handed over the reins of E. Toop Fences to Rich and Tania.

E.Toop remains a small, family owned and operated business, with only trusted full and part-time employees. Many customers have asked Rich and Tania why they don’t expand? They feel that expansion would compromise the philosophy of the company. Like Tania’s dad before him, Rich quotes each job, schedules the installations and is present on each job site, along with the employees, who are also like family. Most of the employees remain with E.Toop for years, and many of the summer students return year after year. E. Toop Fences has never used sub-contractors for their installations as they want to continue to ensure the integrity of their work.

E.Toop’s reputation is built on word of mouth, and it is their goal to live up to the high standards set by Tania’s father. They are honoured that he has entrusted his namesake to them and they are determined to continue to make him proud.

Rich and Tania are proud to call Ancaster home and have sponsored baseball, soccer and hockey teams in Ancaster over the years, as well as the Jay Kuhn Memorial Golf Tournament. They also support other tournaments and charities like the Ronald MacDonald house and the SPCA.
