The Peller family legacy is deeply rooted in Ancaster and Hamilton and they have been making tremendous contributions to the economic growth of Ontario for 70 years.  Jeff’s grandfather Andrew Peller, a Hungarian immigrant and legendary Canadian entrepreneur, started the Peller Brewery in Hamilton in 1945. He also began a tri-weekly newspaper, Hamilton News, and an ice company among other ventures, and went on to found what is still today, Canada’s largest wine maker.  Jeff’s father, the late Dr. Joseph Peller, also emigrated from Hungary, attended medical school in Canada and went on to become the Chief of Medicine for Hamilton Civic Hospitals.

Jeff is the youngest of six children. He grew up in Ancaster and spent the first 35 years of his life in the riding, attending Rousseau Elementary, Ancaster Senior Public School, was a Sea Cadet in Dundas and graduated Grade 13 from Ancaster High School, before venturing off to University. He then went to New York City where he trained as an actor at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre.

The family entrepreneurial roots run deep, as Jeff returned to found Hamilton’s successful Redmill Theatre and The Actors’ Studio of Canada. He was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year by the Hamilton & District Chamber of Commerce as well as winning the award in the category for Commitment to Education and Training at the Greater Hamilton Tourism & Marketing Awards, and is currently one of the owners of the family winery, Andrew Peller Limited. He is a graduate of the Toronto Film School and has been active in the arts as a professional director and actor for almost 30 years, most recently directing The Days Of Wine And Roses at Hart House Theatre in Toronto, and is a longtime member in good standing of both ACTRA and the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Jeff is also highly active as a volunteer for several causes dear to his heart, including Alzheimer’s, mental health and addiction. This spring he will run his fourth consecutive Boston Marathon on the Alzheimer’s Association Team.

In the next provincial election, Jeff Peller will be a strong voice for the Patrick Brown Conservatives and will work tirelessly to represent the voice of residents in the riding of Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas. Please join us and become part of this winning team from the start. The first and most important step, is securing the nomination.

Nominate Jeff to be the voice of Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas.
