Ravine Homes in Ancaster
One of the unique features of the Ancaster Area is it’s proximity to green areas, most predominately the Dundas Valley which consists of 1,200-hectares urban wilderness. Three and a half times the size of New York’s Central Park, this protected natural wonder is a haven for the outdoor lover with more than 40 kilometres of trails winding through Carolinian Forest and escarpment landscapes. It’s truely the gem of this bedroom community witnessed by nearly every home listing within a kilometer of this area bosting ‘walking distance to conservation and trails’.
There are several access points to the conservation enjoyed by hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and adventurers however what better way to enjoy this preserved natural setting than backing your home right to the edge.
This is personally my favourite location to own a home in Ancaster, in particular the homes with a west-facing back yard to enjoy the afternoon sun and spectacular sunsets. For those who enjoy a good light-show you can often witness a thunderstorm passing through the valley giving you a birds-eye view of spectacular lightning trailing through the ravine.
