Ancaster.com would like to express their sincerest thank-you to all the Volunteers in the Ancaster region. As part of National Volunteer Week week we celebrate all the wonderful volunteers both locally and nationally.

National Volunteer Week (NVW) pays tribute to the millions of Canadian volunteers who graciously donate their time and energy. This year’s 68th annual NVW takes place the week of April 15 to 21, 2012. It is Canada’s largest celebration of volunteers, volunteerism, and civic participation.

This week we’d also urge everyone to take a moment to stop and give a personal thank-you to all the volunteers who make Ancaster the incredible community it is. From service clubs, to school volunteers, event coordinators, food drive collectors, to coaches. Many people all around you giving freely of their time to make Ancaster and the world a better place! You won’t have to look far to say thanks – based on the national averages Ancaster has approximately 13,690 volunteers devoting nearly 2.3 million hours annually!

If you’re not involved – get involved. Out community is what you make of it, and together we call all make a difference. If you’re a youth collecting volunteer hours as part of your high school requirement, or just looking for local opportunities in Ancaster, check out Ancaster.com often for events you can get involved in.
