The plant sale of the year is almost here! The Ancaster Horticultural Society plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Society is expecting a massive sale so you don’t want to miss out. The selection of plants will be sumptuous and the prices very reasonable!
The location is the same as usual, the Food Basics Plaza parking lot. Once again, the Society is promoting a large variety of “pollinator-friendly” plants which includes many perennials, flowering shrubs and potted herbs. Approximately 175 potted peony roots will be another major focus of the sale and many of these peony varieties are hard-to-find. Small trees will also be given the spot-light with four different varieties of trees available for your garden. Lastly, 400 heirloom tomato plants are highlighted which includes new varieties.
Potting days begins on Wed. April 26th, at 9:30 a.m. at Whiteside Farm, 1160 Jerseyville Rd., Ancaster. If you are interested in helping the Society pot up plants for the sale, please bring your gloves, pruners, and your coffee mug.
