AFF Screens Oscar Nominee
On Monday February 10th, AFF screens NEBRASKA starring Bruce Dern at 1:00, 4:00 and 7:15 p.m. Doors open at 12:15, 3:15 and 6:15 p.m. All screenings at Ancaster Silver City, $9 for the matinees and $10 in the evening. All proceeds will go to the Hamilton Out of the Cold program. From the last screenings $1400 was donated to the Hamilton Out of the Cold Program.
After receiving a sweepstakes letter in the mail, a cantankerous father (Bruce Dern) thinks he’s struck it rich, and wrangles his son (Will Forte) into taking a road trip to claim the fortune. Beautifully shot in black and white across four states, Nebraska tells the stories of family life in the heartland of America. Nebraska is directed by Alexander Payne (Election, About Schmidt, Sideways, The Descendants). It has been nominated for six Oscars (Best Picture, Best Director (Payne), Best Actor (Dern), Best Supporting Actress (June Squibb), Best Cinematography and Best Original Screenplay (Bob Nelson). It has also received over 90 other award wins/nominations.
