The gardening topic this month is, ‘Fall Clean-up with a Vision to Spring’ with speaker Jack Kent, owner and operator, of The Potting Shed. The Potting Shed is located in Dunnville, Ontario on 44 Haldimand Road. #17 and directly across the road from the Grand River. Jack  has something to say about the care of your plants and  will offer some tips and pointers on preparing your garden for winter…. “Just viewing the wonderful displays of

unique plant material and the pond that is surrounded by his poly houses and livestock, it’s easy to believe it’s not all for looks. Jack Kent has owned and operated his business now for 19 years and comes with a plethora of information and advice.”

In 2011, for the Ancaster Horticultural Society’s

50th Anniversary, Mr. Kent hybridized a brand new golden & burgundy coloured daylily in commemoration of the

Society’s 50th Anniversary. The name was voted on by the Board  of Directors  from dozens of names submitted by Society members. The name chosen was the “Ancaster Golden Jubilee”,  a suggestion submitted by one of our Board members.

All are welcome to attend monthly meetings. Registration is not required.  Admission is free.
