I am a huge fan of the new show Canadian Pickers.  Sheldon and Scott travel around the country finding neat things, buying them cheap and then sell to make a profit.

A few weeks ago an episode featured the antique-hunting pair visiting the Christie Lake Antique Show and I immediately googled the event to find out when it is held.

Hundreds of Canada’s top antique dealers and collectors display and sell an unparalleled variety of treasures. With 10 acres of vintage items waiting to be discovered, there are items to please both the novice and the most experienced collector. Furniture, architectural antiques, stoneware, Native artifacts, folk art, rugs, jewellery, sports memorabilia, scientific instruments, textiles, cut glass—if you can imagine it, you can find it in one of the 1,200 collecting categories featured at the show.

The show attracts local celebrities – let us know if you spot one!  (Sarah Richardson, Tommy Smythe, Samantha Pynn and Tamara Robbins Griffith, just to name a few, have been spotted at past shows)
